Help

The questions people ask in their first week. If yours isn't here, a person answers the phone and every message.

Getting started

How do I sign in?

Your phone number is your login. Enter it, we text a six-digit code, and you're in. No password. You can add Face ID or a passkey afterwards under Office → Sign-in & security.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The first 3 days are free with no card. After that it's one flat monthly price for the whole business, everyone included.

What should I do first?

Tell Earl who's on the crew, where you keep stock, and what you charge. Then just talk to him the way you'd talk to an office manager: "Book Mike on the Miller job Tuesday", "how many boxes of oak do we have", "send the Nguyens the quote".

Can my crew use it?

Yes. Invite them under Office → People. Each person signs in on their own phone with their own Earl account (Solo or above, 3 days free to start); nothing is added to your bill. Employees see the calendar, stock, and their own hours. They never see rates, pay, invoices, or quotes.

Talking to Earl

Talk or type?

Both. Hold the mic button and speak, or type in the box. On the phone, Earl reads his answers aloud when you talked to him.

What if Earl gets something wrong?

Say so. "No, that was Danny not Mike" and he fixes the record. Every change he makes is checked against the records before it stands, and everything is visible under Earl's day.

Does Earl remember things?

Yes. He keeps a notebook and a brain: customers, crew, suppliers, how you like things done. Open Brain from the home screen to see and edit what he knows.

Can I undo something?

Every sheet keeps a trash and a history. Open the sheet, tap the row, and restore it. Nightly backups are under Office → Backups.

The phone line

What does the business line do?

Customers call one number and it rings your phone. You take the call; Earl listens and takes the notes. The moment you hang up, he calls you back to lock in the details and book it: who it was, the address, the work, the days. Miss a call and it goes to voicemail, which Earl files and brings to you the same way. Customers never talk to Earl; they always get a person. Your own cell number stays private.

Can I call out from it?

Yes. Tap the keypad on the home screen. Your phone rings first, then the customer's, and Earl files the call afterwards.

How many minutes are included?

200 a month on the plan. Past that it's metered by the minute, shown under Plan & billing before it's ever charged.

Quotes, invoices, and money

How do quotes work?

"Quote the Millers for the kitchen" and Earl asks what he needs, builds the PDF, and sends it from your email with a link the customer can accept and pay a deposit on. Accepted quotes become invoices.

How do customers pay?

By card or bank through the link on the invoice, straight into your own Stripe account. Earl marks it paid when the money lands.

Where does my logo go?

Office → Look. It goes on every quote, invoice, job report, and your booking page.

Booking page and connections

What's the booking page?

A link where customers pick a service and an open day. Earl files it like a call. Turn it on under Office → Booking page and put the link on your website and Google profile.

What does connecting Gmail do?

Earl reads what comes into your inbox and passes along what matters (customers, crew, suppliers, replies), and sends quotes and invoices from your own address. Office → Connections.

Account and billing

How do I cancel?

Office → Plan & billing → Cancel. You keep access to the end of the period. Download a backup first if you want a copy of everything.

Can I close the business?

Office → Plan & billing → Close this business. It asks for a fresh text code, then deletes every record for good.

Is my data sold?

No. Your records are yours. Read the privacy page for the details.

Still wondering? Try him.

Three days free, no card, your phone number is the login. Set up takes a few minutes.

Security and privacy

How Earl keeps your records safe is on the security page, and what we collect and why is on the privacy page. The rules of the service are in the terms.
